Changing my mindset

Once upon a time I used to live on Weight Watchers Smart Ones. I would eat them for lunch every day. I liked that all I had to do was pop them in the microwave and they were done in three to four minutes, and I knew their calories exactly. Those days are over.

Tuesday and Thursday nights my hubby works late, really late. So the kids and I eat dinner without him. I got the girls their meals but I didn't want what they were having. As I searched the freezer I spied a lone Smart One sitting there. I pulled it out and threw it in the microwave. And then as is my habit these days I flipped the box over to see the ingredients. A lenghtly list greeted me, with the normal stuff highlighted. In a jumble of words of things I didn't always understand they highlighted the beans, rice, corn, etc. And then I took that microwave dinner from the microwave and I chucked it in the trash. I can do better than this. I can eat better than this. I do not have to stoop to eating boxed perservative laden garbage anymore.

I have yet to make my dinner but whatever I decide on it will be fresh, natural, and full of things I can understand. I'm thinking eggs, with a little cheese and homemade salsa. I am worth more than some cheapy processed Weight Watchers Smart One. My body is something I want to take care of, not slowly destroy.
